Why are you still a virgin?

I’ve decided that I want to lose my virginity to someone that I really care about and trust. No it’s not so much that I’m waiting for marriage or for any type of religious reason. There have been times where I’ve thought about just having sex with anyone that I was close to but I’m doing a pretty good job of staying true to my word (being that I don’t want to have mindless sex with anyone). I’m also very nervous about the entire ordeal in terms of performing and possibly not being protected.
